Brutus
The Brutus Chair draws on a powerful Modernist vernacular, softened by a sense of visual lightness and organic refinement. Conceived as a sculptural object, the design feels more “cut” than constructed, as though its form has been naturally weathered and then precisely shaped. The backrest—reminiscent of a carved shell—features a striking squared opening, while the seat and back read as a continuous volume, where horizontal and vertical planes meet in smooth, deliberate curves. Perspective plays a central role: the elliptical legs taper from seat to floor, their fin-like profile shifting in appearance—broad from one angle, remarkably slender from another—resulting in a piece that balances monumentality with subtle dynamism.
