9602 Floor Lamp
The 9602 Floor Lamp, sometimes referred to as the “Chinese Hat,” was designed by Paavo Tynell in 1935 for the Hotel Aulanko. Distinguished by its airy, sculptural shade and rattan-wrapped stem, the piece reflects Tynell’s remarkable ability to merge lightness with structure. The animated, layered form of the shade brings a sense of playfulness and movement, while the more grounded base provides a calm, architectural counterpoint, resulting in a composition that feels both expressive and enduring.
